Laurence Decore Award
The Laurence Decore Award for Student Leadership is funded and administered through the Alberta Heritage Scholarship Fund. This award honours Laurence Decore, a 'true leader' who, after graduating from the University of Alberta, established a law practice. He went on to serve on the Edmonton City Council, later became Mayor of Edmonton, and then won the provincial Liberal leadership, serving as the Liberal Leader of the Opposition. Laurence Decore also served as the chairperson of the Canadian Multiculturalism Council.
This award recognizes students who demonstrate outstanding dedication and leadership to fellow students and to their community through involvement in student government, student associations, clubs, and or organizations.
Recipients of this award receive a plaque and a letter of commendation from the Government of Alberta along with a $500.00 award. Four students are nominated for this award. Previously this award was the Charles S. Noble Award.

Charles S. Noble Award for Student Leadership
The Charles S. Noble Award for Student Leadership was administered by the Student Finance Board of the Government of Alberta. This award honoured Charles S. Noble, an agricultural entrepreneur, innovator and farm implement manufacturer who became one of Alberta's most successful grain producers.
The program was created to provide an opportunity for citizens of Alberta to put forth proposals for scholarships to recognize achievement and the awards are intended to recognize those post-secondary students who have demonstrated outstanding dedication and leadership to fellow students and to their community.
Recipients of this award received a plaque and a letter of commendation from the Government of Alberta along with a $300.00 award. Three students were nominated for this award.
