The economics major is an appropriate background for careers in agriculture, business, financial services, environmental conservation and management, journalism, development, and government.

Students interested in pursuing further study in economics, business, law, journalism, environmental studies, development studies, and Canadian policy can use economics as their undergraduate preparation.

A minor in Economics provides the opportunity to broaden one’s academic background and to acquire a supporting area for one’s concentration or major. The economics minor is of particular interest to students pursuing degrees in biology, computing science, environmental studies, mathematics, history, philosophy, political studies, and modern languages.
