Jim and Sonja Hendrickson donate $100,000 to establish a major endowment for the Chester Ronning Centre for the Study of Religion and Public Life.
The Chester Ronning Centre for the Study of Religion and Public Life focuses its work on a set of issues and themes that demand our attention whether or not we are religious, a demand that informed many of the founders of Augustana, a demand that daily flashes across every news broadcast and that has finally galvanized the attention of scholars as noted as Stanley Fish. The demand is for a more complex attention to be paid to these issues, an attention that is both inclusive and critical.
